heads-welcome

2026-27

Welcome to St Hilda’s CE Primary School! Ours is a community rich in diversity and we are proud of our enduring, powerful identify at the heart of the local area. St Hilda’s has a strong “family feel” - a number of our pupils are sons and daughters of former pupils - which provides strong, positive support for the families who join us at the beginning of and at various points during the academic year.

The educational offer at St Hilda’s is strong as the result of a continuous cycle of review and improvement, whilst the school values of respect, trust, aspiration, compassion, community and knowledge underpin every aspect of our work. Our exceptionally dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff conduct themselves as role models for the children’s behaviour and learning. The Governing Board is made up of experienced individuals with a strong skill set, and its members are integral to school development, providing support and guidance whilst ensuring that the leadership team is challenged in all areas where accountability is critical.

Our ambition is to improve children’s life chances through a rich curriculum which has been developed to build upon children’s knowledge and to raise attainment. We are proud of our status as a “Good” school (Ofsted, April 2024) and we continue to push forward, continuously reflecting upon and improving provision and outcomes. We work closely and in partnership with families as we prepare the children for the next step of their education and for life in the wider world. Please take time to view the yearly plans and the celebrations of learning on our school website.

I am proud of my personal status as an “Oldham girl”. It is a privilege to lead this truly remarkable school and to build upon its legacy. We hope you will take every opportunity to engage with us including communicating through the home - school records, questionnaires, parent - teacher meetings and informal chats. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions you may have.

Let’s work together to make this our best year, yet!
