Year 3: Interactive Workshop - April 2025

Maple class enjoyed a fabulous interactive musical workshop! Mrs Garcia showed us all about the piano and we had a go at making some music and singing songs.

Year 6: Musical Pulse - November 2025

Year 6 are learning about and recognising changes in musical pulse. They are doing a smashing job!

Year 1 and 2: Pace and Rhythm - November 2025

We have been learning about pace and rhythm in music this term. The children always look forward to their Music Lessons.

Year 4: Exploring Rhythm, Tempo and Melody - December 2025

In music, the children explored rhythm, tempo and melody through singing and creative listening activities. They worked together to keep a steady beat, experiment with sounds, and build confidence in performing. The lessons helped pupils develop their musical skills while having fun making music as a class.

Year 3: Learning the Glockenspiel - June 2026

In Music, Elm has been learning to play the glockenspiel, which has been great fun. They have enjoyed exploring the instrument and developing their confidence in playing simple tunes. As part of their learning, they have been identifying and comparing high and low notes, listening carefully to the different sounds they produce. Elm has shown enthusiasm during lessons and is beginning to recognise how pitch changes across the instrument. They have enjoyed taking part in practical activities and are developing their musical skills well.

Year 1 and 2: Pitch and Glockenspiels - June 2026

The children are making high and low sounds to recognise the difference in pitch. Once they explored using their voices, they used the glockenspiels to enhance their understanding further.

Year 3: Glockenspiels - June 2026

Maple Class have just begun to use a glockenspiel. They have been exploring pitch and demonstrate playing the pitch (G-C) on a tuned percussion instrument.
