Oldham Foodbank - October 2025
Wow St Hildas! You have done it again! Another year where your kindness and generosity has blown us away! On behalf of Oldham Foodbank, we would like to thank all the children, staff and families for their donations, they are really appreciated! Mrs Burton and Miss Bainbridge filled three shopping trolleys full and we were very excited to see how the Foodbank operates and to meet some of their wonderful volunteers. Well done St Hildas! What a community we are!
MBE Muzahid Khan Visit to School - June 2025
We had the pleasure of welcoming MBE Muzahid Khan to our school, where he spoke to our students about aspiration and shared his inspiring journey. It was particularly special as he attended St Hilda's Primary as a child, and has since gone on to achieve great things. His dedication and service have been recognised with an MBE, awarded by the King.
English: World Book Day - March 2025
Owls ,Foxes and Badgers class read Supertato books and designed and created their own potato superhero. Thursday 6th March .Year 5 Pine and Oak went on a trip to Gallery Oldham to meet an author called Susan Brownrigg who read her books and presented a workshop on pirates.
Friday 7th of March .Everyone came to school in pyjamas and went for a bedtime story in the dark with their torches.
Science: ShowHi - January 2025
It was fantastic that both children and adults were able to engage with science in such a hands-on and exciting way. The Royal Institution's Energy Live show was such a brilliant way to bring science to life and make it accessible to everyone. It was inspiring for all involved to see how science is part of our everyday lives. What was the most memorable part of the show for you?
The Christmas Tree Festival Club - December 2024
The Christmas Tree Festival Club has been very busy over the last few weeks. The children have created gingerbread decorations to display on the St Hilda's Christmas tree at Parish Church in Oldham. The children enjoyed a trip to the church to see their decorations on display. We were all very proud of how amazing it looked!
The Linking Project Celebration Event - June 2024
Four children attended a 'School's Linking Project Celebration Event' at the Gallery Oldham. Year 3 children in Maple and Cherry classes have done some linking projects with Year 3 children from South Failsworth School. Many schools attended and the children met each other once again!
Science: Professor Brian Cox Lecture - January 2024
Some very lucky children from years 4, 5 and 6 went to the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Oldham to see an event held by Professor Brian Cox. He is a very famous scientist from Oldham (particle physicist) who is very inspirational , especially to the next generation of young people. He talked about Earth and space and many fascinating facts! It was a really enlightening evening!
