Living our Values
Our assemblies, special occasions and celebrations in our school ife.
Year One and Two: Interfaith Marketplace - November 2024
Year One and Two had a wonderful time during our Interfaith Marketplace! They completed a faith trail learning facts and information about Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism and Sikhism.
They were fantastic throughout the activity, working collaboratively with their partner to find their answers and they have learnt such a lot from the event!
Watch this space, we would like parents to come and join us next time!
Elm Class: Interfaith Week - November 2024
During Interfaith week, the children in Elm class have really enjoyed learning about different faiths and celebrating differences. We have explored ‘Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Humanism and Atheism’. The children had the opportunity to ask questions about different faiths to a panel of experts from the Oldham Interfaith forum. It was engaging for the children as they were able to listen to personal experiences. St Hilda’s school also held a ‘Interfaith café’ in each class, where they enjoyed a lovely cup of juice and biscuits, while discussing a range of beliefs surrounding different faiths. In addition, we also had an ‘Interfaith marketplace trail/quiz’ which Elm class found fascinating because they had the opportunity to discover different artefacts from the different faiths, along with quiz questions. It has also been a positive experience for the children to learn about one another and uphold the values of our school -trust, knowledge, community, compassion, aspiration and respect. Diversity makes our world more interesting!
Oldham Interfaith Forum - November 2024
A huge thank you to our special guests from ‘Oldham Interfaith Forum’ who came to our school today! We held our very own ‘Interfaith Panel’ to continue our work exploring how to respect different religions and beliefs in our daily lives. The children prepared some very deep and meaningful questions to ask our three faith leaders and they have learnt such a lot from their knowledgeable responses!
Interfaith Week - November 2024
What a wonderful start to ‘Interfaith Week’! Maple class led our collective worship assembly today and they did a remarkable job! They demonstrated many similarities and differences amongst different faiths and cultures and shared a very important message; be kind and show respect to all!
Interfaith Marketplace - November 2024
The hall was set up with tables and each faith had a designated table, the children went around to each table and completed a faith trail quiz about the different faiths. It was an informative morning, and we all benefitted from our walk. A HUGE thank you to Miss Bainbridge and everyone involved for planning and arranging everything!
