Guidelines and Policy

  • School uniform is worn by all children in school.
  • Children should be encouraged or able to manage their own clothing.
  • A child’s name should be clearly marked so personal property can be easily identified.
  • Boys and girls wear a pale blue school polo shirt with collar and a navy blue school sweat shirt bearing the school name and logo.
  • Trousers can be worn by both boys and girls and are to be plain black or grey in colour. Sports trousers/track pants are not acceptable. Leggings are not allowed.
  • Girls may wear a grey or black skirt or pinafore. A blue gingham dress may be worn in the summer term.
  • Black sensible shoes with plain black socks or tights are to be worn with the uniform. Trainers are not acceptable.
  • No jewellery other than a wristwatch should be worn (this includes ear studs, nose studs, necklaces, charms or bracelets).
  • Long hair must be securely tied back in a ponytail / plait / bun or similar style - off the face and shoulders. This means vision is not obscured and also limits the risk of hair being caught in furniture or equipment. This rule applies throughout the school day including PE lessons.
  • Girls in Y5/6 may wear a plain black headscarf fastened with a clip or securely tied. Tasselled, coloured or patterned scarves may not be worn and scarves should NEVER be fastened with a pin. Headscarves need to be removed for PE for Health and Safety reasons.

  • All PE Kit should be stored in a drawstring PE bag (no rucksacks) with the child’s name clearly marked.
  • Nursery children do not require a PE Kit.
  • Girls wear a full swimsuit for swimming lessons. Boys wear trunks not swim shorts.
