Our classroom is a very exciting place and it changes all the time. We have lots of different areas where we can play and learn, some inside and some outside. We have a book corner, a construction area, a role play area, a creative area, a writing area, an ICT area and a sand and water area.
Nursery Admissions
Children are eligible to be admitted to our Nursery following their third birthday, when they are entilted to 15 hours free childcare. Places are avaliable from the September of that academic year.
Nursery operates morning only sessions 9:00am until 12:00pm.
Parents must complete the Parent Declaration Form three times per year in order to access their 15 hours free entitlement.
Nursery children must re-apply on-line for a Reception place for the following year. A place in our Nursery does not guarantee a Reception class place, but our Nursery is part of the main school in terms of the Governing Body, organisation and management, planning and budget control. The children in the Nursery are taught by a full-time teacher and highly qualified teaching assistants. A range of activities are provided in order that the children develop emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially.
The Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum covering the Foundation Stage of Learning. This curriculum is delivered indoors and out. Great emphasis is placed on developing close links between the Nursery and~the main school.
In addition, we also place great emphasis on developing close links between~home and nursery school such as having an open door policy, online journal (Tapestry), workshops and assemblies.
It is ideal that all Nursery children are toilet trained before they start school in September.

Ten Tips for Talking
The Greater Manchester (GM) 10 Tips for Talking are ten key messages to support the development of language and communication skills for babies and young children and can be used by everyone. Each tip is designed to give families and anyone working with children some small suggestions that can make a big difference and help give children the best start. Each message is based on sound research and is delivered by children.
The Ten Tips for Talking are part of Greater Manchester’s school readiness work, which is funded by the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership. The ambitious programme aims to improve outcomes for young children and their families, and ensure every child achieves their potential.

Curriculum Planning 2026-27
Home Learning
Book bags will be sent home on Fridays and are then to be returned to school on Mondays. Please share the book with your child and talk to them about the text. Please make sure the book bags and their contents are taken care of and returned to school in a good condition.
Please keep encouraging your child to be independent e.g. dressing, toileting and looking after their belongings.
